The Muscogee "Indian Journal," Aug. 14, 1878: "The Muscogee Base Ball nine are prepared to meet any club in the Territory, to play a match game at the fair grounds during the fair."
Muskogee (current pop. about 38,000) is about 55 miles SE of Tulsa. It was incorporated only in 1898.
