The Harrisburg Patriot, Oct. 18, 1866, has a long article on the Pennsylvania state base ball convention. Among the many teams mentioned as sending delegates was the Amateur BBC of Carlisle.
Carlisle PA (1860 pop. about 5,500; 1870 pop. about 6,500)is about 20 miles W of Harrisburg in the south of the state.
