The Memphis Daily Appeal, June 12, 1875: “Another exciting contest came off at Moscow last Thursday. The Moscowites had respectfully solicited La Grange’s champion baseball club. The Excelsiors came down in all their splendor and beautiful uniform."
Moscow TN (current pop. about 550)is about 35 miles E of Memphis and 10 miles W of La Grange (current pop. about 135.)
