The Vermont Phoenix (Brattleboro) Dec. 21, 1866 announced a "state convention of base ball clubs" called for by the Home BBC of Burlington and the Crescent BBC of St. Albans.
Burlington VT's pop. was about 7,700 in 1860 and 13,500 in 1870.
