The St. Johnsbury Caledonian, Sept. 27, 1867, reports on a base ball tournament recently held and mentions the following teams: Ethan Allen of Marshfield; Caledonia of Danville; Olympic of Morrisville; Union of St. Johnsbury; and Rural of Montpelier.
Montpelier VT (1860 pop. about 2,500;1870 pop. about3,000) is about 40 miles SE of Burlington in central VT.
