In a game report in the the Sunday Mercury in May 1860, it was reported that the Marion Club, from Williamsburg [Brooklyn] had been received by the Henry Clay Club as well as the Sumter Club during an eight-day visit to Norfolk. See the separate account of this game.

Norfolk VA (1860 pop. about 14,500) is about 95 miles SW of Richmond VA.
