On June 3, 1867. a Lynchburg club defeated a team from nearby Bellvue 94-26. See, generally, W. Harrison Daniel, “The Rage in the Hill City: The Beginnings of Baseball in Lynchburg,” Virginia Cavalcade, Spring 1979.
Bellevue appears to be a subarea of neighborhood of Richmond VA. Lynchburg is about about 100 miles to the West of this area. Maybe there is/was another place called Bellevue closer to Lynchburg?
