"Base Ball -- This very interesting game, which is so popular in this country, is being played every evening upon the West Park by the Racine Club. Base ball is a noble game -- very exciting -- great deal of fun playing it . . . ."
"A match game took place took place the following week between the club's first and second nines. Racine Journal of October 3, 1866 describes the game as 'a very good game, considering the short time the club has been organized."
