The Salt Lake City Deseret News, 7-13-1877, mentions that the local Deseret team will play the Cheyenne (Wyo) Red Stockings at home the 23rd, 24th and 25th of the month. Same 7-25-77 reports that the Deserets won.
Cheyenne WY (1870 pop. about 1500; 1880 pop. about 3400) is about 50 miles SE of Laramie and within about 30 miles of the borders with Colorado and Nebraska.
