Frank (Shorty, Fireman) Philip DeCarolis is married and has one daughter, Jane who was born in March, 1951. He lives in Burbank, California per the 1951 California League Gold Book (Third Edition). His nationality is Italian-French. He graduated from Burbank High School in 1949 and played baseball, basketball and football. He was named to the ALL-C.I.F. team in 1949 and set the Southern California high school strikeout record with 177 in 58 innings. His hobby is swimming and diving. He is a turret operator during the off-season. His biggest thrill in baseball was hitting a home run at Bakersfield.
