Description First Televised Baseball Game: Princeton 2, Columbia 1

"The first baseball game ever telecast was a college, rather than a professional game. On May 17, 1939, NBC telecast a game between Princeton and Columbia to the few sets in operation in the New York City area."

Bill Stern announced the game for radio channel W2XBS, which would become WABC-TV.
