Template:Person-umpired-in

This template formally records that a person was an umpire in a particular league in a given year. This includes players, coaches, or other personnel pressed into service as emergency umpires due to the absence of a league-assigned umpire, or disputes regarding the regular umpire(s).

In the most usual case of an umpire in an organized professional league, this template is only used when the person is confirmed to have umpired in at least one official game in the league. In that case, the parameters year and league specify the league in question, where league the "short name" of the league. Thus, a typical case might look like:

This template can also be used to record umpiring engagements outside of professional leagues. The same syntax is used, but an additional parameter type specifies the nature of the playing engagement. Possible values for type include:

• semipro: A semi-professional league.

Optional parameters may give more information about the engagement. They include:

• start_month: The month in which the person umpired in his first game (1-12)
• start_day: The day of month on which the person umpired in his first game (1-31)
• end_month: The month in which the person umpired in his last game (1-12)
• end_day: The day of month on which the person umpired in his last game (1-31)
