In the minor leagues, Justis threw five known no-hitters, including four during the 1908 Ohio State League season. His no-hitters occurred on 7/19/1908, 8/2/1908, 9/8/1908, 9/13/1908 and 5/18/1909. As far as is known, he holds the record for number of minor league no-hitters. There are nine pitchers who are known to have thrown four no-hitters in the minor leagues: Bert Humphries, Carl Ray, Charles "Sea Lion" Hall, James Ward, Grover Brant, Rafael Garcia, Ralph Comstock, Virgil Trucks, and George McQuillen.
