- Only West Virginia University pitcher to strikeout ore than 300 batters in college career.
- Struck out 22 batters i a game against Waynesburg in 1964.
- Pitched a one-hitter against Virginia Military Institute in 1964.
- Was all-Southern Conference in 1964 and 1965.
Achievements
- First baseball player from West Virginia University to be selected in the amateur draft, picked in the fifth round of the 1965 draft by the Los Angeles Dodgers.
- Selected to the West Virginia Sports Hall of Fame in 2010.
