- The MO-V League played a 120 game schedule which began on May 8 and ended on September 5.
- Two All-Star Games were played.
- A two round Shaughnessy championship series was played; in the first round the first-place team played the third place team, and the second played the fourth, with the winners of those series meeting for the championship.[3] The first round was a best-of-five affair; the championship round was best-of-seven. Paducah was crowned playoff champion.
- Centralia led the league in wins.
- Total 1949 attendance: 203,064.
