  • The MO-V League played a 120 game schedule which began on May 8 and ended on September 5.
  • Two All-Star Games were played.
    • On July 12 between two manager-selected All-Star teams; the North won by a 7-4 score [1].
    • On August 6 between a fan-selected All-Star team and first half leader Centralia; the All-Stars beat the Cubs by a 9-2 score [2].
  • A two round Shaughnessy championship series was played; in the first round the first-place team played the third place team, and the second played the fourth, with the winners of those series meeting for the championship.[3] The first round was a best-of-five affair; the championship round was best-of-seven. Paducah was crowned playoff champion.
  • Total 1949 attendance: 203,064.
