 year.
  • Played two years of American Legion ball in Oakland for a team his father managed.
  • Won five and lost two in American Legion ball in 1952.
  • Was acclaimed as "Oakland's best prep baseball player" at the 1952 American Legion prep all-star
 game in Oakland as he struck out seven in four innings and allowed only three hits and no runs
 in the all-star game.

Outside of baseball

  • Is employed at the American Red Cross Headquarters in San Francisco during the off-season.
