He describes his most interesting and "most discouraging" experience as losing his first start in pro ball, 11-2, to last place Bakersfield." "To add to my deflated ego" he says, "I learned about two weeks later that I had also set a new league record for the most wild pitches in a single game, five....and it would have been ten if they had men on base when a few others hit the screen." He holds the league record for the most wild pitches in one game with 5 and in one inning with 3; both are also the known professional record. He pitched two one-hit games last season.
