The Midwest League played a 128 game, split-season schedule which began on April 27 and ended on September 1. The first half ended on June 28.
- The league played with nine teams in 1969, which resulted in one team taking a bye in each series; another consequence was an unusually high double-header rate.
- The tenth team would have been Dubuque, but that arrangement fell through; the league then offered the franchise to Rockford, then (at the last minute) to Beloit.^[1]
Early-season games scheduled for Quad Cities and Clinton were held in other ballyards, as their home fields were flooded by the Mississippi River.^[2]
An All-Star Game was played on July 21 between a Midwest League All-Star team and first-half champion Appleton; the Foxes won by a 5-3 score^[3].
No championship playoff was held as Appleton won both half-season titles.
Total 1969 attendance: 367,420.
