- The Midwest League played a 126 game, split-season schedule which began on April 26 and ended on August 31. The first half ended on June 27.
- An All-Star Game was played on July 13 between a Midwest League All-Star team and first-half champion Quincy; the Stars won by a 10-7 score[1].
- A best-of-three championship playoff was won by Quincy.
- A single-game tiebreaker was required to determine that Quad City won the second half title
- Total 1970 attendance: 532,034.
