  • The Midwest League played a 140 game, two-division, split-season schedule which began on April 12 and ended on September 3. The first half ended on June 21.
  • An All-Star Game was played on June 24 between All-Star Teams representing the league's Northern and Southern divisions. After 10 innings of play they called it a 6-6 tie.
  • A two-tier championship playoff was held after the season. The best-of-five championship round was won by Clinton.
  • Total 1991 attendance: 1,816,898.
