  • The Midwest League played a 140 game, two-division, split-season schedule which began on April 8 and ended on September 6. The first half ended on June 20.
  • An All-Star Game was played on June 22 between All-Star Teams representing the league's Eastern and Western divisions (Peoria was counted as an Eastern team). The West won by a 6-3 score.
  • A three-tier championship playoff was held after the season, with the championship won by West Michigan.
  • Total 2004 attendance: 3,505,556.
