  • The Midwest League played a 140 game, two-division, split-season schedule which began on April 9 and ended on September 7. The first half ended on June 21.
  • An All-Star Game was played on June 23 between All-Star Teams representing the league's Eastern and Western divisions (Peoria was counted as an Eastern team). The East won by a 6-3 score.
  • A three-tier championship playoff was held after the season. The championship was won by Fort Wayne.
  • Total 2009 attendance: 3,629,038.
