• Batted .515 in his sophomore year and once scored 40 points in a basketball game against Northeastern University.

• Was third in batting average with .311 in the 1958 South Atlantic League.
• Hit two doubles and two home runs, scored four runs and batted in six runs in a game with Nashville in 1957 for his best day in baseball.
