  • Pitched in the Negro professional leagues for many years.
  • Was Roy Campanella's roommate in 1941 with the Baltimore Elite Giants.

  • In 1949 he pitched in all eight games for the Bakersfield Spuds in the California state semi-pro tournament, winning six while losing only one. The six wins in a state tourney is a record.
  • Tied for the lead for most shutouts by a pitcher with 3 in the 1953 California League.
