  • Graduated University of Southern California with a B.A. degree in Radio and Television[1].
  • Was named to NCAA First Team All-America in 1959[1].
  • In 1958, pitched Southern California to NCAA championship with a 3-hit shut out in the semi-final game and 4 and 1/2 innings of one-hit shut ball in relief in the 12-inning final game, both against University of Missouri[1].
  • Was named to the all-tournament team. along with teammates Ron Fairly, Mike Castanon, and Fred Scott and Missouri first baseman Sonny Siebert[2].
  • Was optioned by Seattle in the Pacific Coast League to Johnstown in the Eastern League on May 26, 1961.[3]
