Donald Robert Bell is married and lives in Los Angeles, California per the 1951 California League Gold Book (Third Edition). He graduated from Garfield High School in 1948 and participated in baseball, football and track. He attended East Los Angeles Junior College and the University Of Southern California. He was a pitcher in high school and hurled a no-hit, no-run game striking out 17 batsmen. He is a machinist during the off-season. His hobby is fishing. His baseball ambition is to play for San Diego.
