- Angelo pitched in city baseball leagues in Battle Creek, Michigan, for 53 years, generally at a very high level, compiling a 353/69 won/loss record. He pitched his last game in 2002, at the age of 70.
- He competed in international amateur competition with the Grand Rapids Sullivans baseball team.
- He pitched for the Winona Chiefs in the semi-pro Southern Minnesota League from July 2 to July 14, 1953.
- Angelo was inducted into the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame in 1994[1].
- The Angelo family owned a restaurant, called Carl Angelo's after 1958, from 1949 to 2001. It was located across Capitol Avenue from Bailey Park and C. O. Brown Stadium, where Carl played baseball.
