  • In high school, he was a first-team All-State selection, leading the state in stolen bases.

  • In 2003, he ranked among the 2003 Appalachian League leaders in stolen bases (second winth 21), extra base hits (third, 28), doubles, runs, and hits.
  • In 2004, he was ranked as the ninth-best prospect and Best Athlete in the White Sox system by Baseball America entering the season.
  • In 2005, he recorded his second consecutive 20-Hr/20-stolen base season in his first season for 2005 Birmingham. He participated in the 2005 All-Star Futures Game in Detroit.
  • Prior to the 2006 season, he suffered a broken third metacarpal in his right hand, having surgery prior to spring training.
  • In 2007, he set club rookie records for runs (85), doubles (29, home runs (32), strikeouts (141), slugging percentage (.467), stolen bases (27), and extra-base hits (64).
