• Lettered in baseball and football at Stanford University.
• Played in the 1952 Rose Bowl game with Stanford against Illinois.
• Hit 13 home runs over left field fence on diamond at Palo Alto to set an intercollegiate mark.
• The distance down the left field foul line on the diamond at Palo Alto is 360 feet.
• Hit .335 during the 1953 California Intercollegiate Baseball Association season.
• Was named to the Third Team All America in 1953.
