Canastota, April 19. (Special.) - Josh Conley, the ball player, died at his home in this place about 7 o'clock this morning. He had been ill about two weeks. The funeral will be held from the home, on North Main street, at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon.

This year he had signed to play with Haverhill, Mass., and had but a short time ago received notification that be had been elected captain of the team. He expected to leave for Haverhill in a few days.

For nearly two years Conley had been troubled with lung, and throat diseases, and last season it affected his work to a considerable extent. In February he became worse, and this month went to his home at Canastota, where his wife lives. Two weeks ago he took to his bed, and never left it. [1]
