At the end of the 1952 season when Mike Dillon was with the Marion (NC) Marauders of the Class D Western Carolina League, a newspaper article reported the following regarding his future plans: "Mike Dillon will return to him home at Tacoma, Washington, but is undecided about what he will do this winter. He is in the reserves and is scheduled to report to the Army next July 7th."[1]
