Duane (Dooie) O. Eckert is single and lives in San Mateo, California per the 1951 California League Gold Book (Third Edition). His nationality is Dutch-Irish-Danish-Bohemian. He graduated from San Mateo High School in 1949 and played baseball, basketball and football. He attended San Mateo Junior College. In high school his biggest thrill was hitting two homers in one inning. His hobbies are golf and swimming. His most interesting experience in pro ball to date was breaking up a tie game with his first home run.
