E. J. McNabb, the well-known twirler of the Denver Base Ball Club, was born in Mt. Vernon, O., Oct. 21, 1865. He is 5ft. 11 1/2in., and weighs 1701bs. in base ball uniform. Though a pitcher of more than average ability, he did not enter the professional ranks till 1889. His first engagement was with the Waco (Tex.) Club, where his pitching and general field work soon brought him into a prominent position. The Denver Club management were anxious to secure his services, and early in July they made a tempting offer which he accepted, and his success in the box, combined with general all round excellence in all parts of the field, has made his position with the Mountaineers a permanent one. McNabb is one of the improving sort, and this year he held his own among the leading pitchers of the Western Association. [1]
