F Hengeveld was a professional player.

While at Davidson, he starred in both basketball and baseball.^[1] He left professional baseball to work at his collegiate alma mater, where he coached baseball and basketball (compiling a 20-19 record from 1919 to 22), and later becoming the registrar there.^[2]
