- Resided in Sacramento, California in 1952.
- Self-identified as being of English-Danish ancestry.
- Worked four innings in his first game for Midland in the 1938 West Texas-New Mexico League, losing 5-2.
- Helping Spokane win the Western International League title on the last day of the 1948 season was his greatest thrill; the club had been in the second division in mid-August, then won 45 of its last 56 games with Frank tossing the pennant-clincher.
Pre-professional career
- Attended Elk Grove, California High School.
- Was on the all-star diamond team for three years.
Achievements
- Set a new Western International League record whe he pitched 300 innings in 1948.
- Led the 1948 Western International League in complete games with 30.
Outside of baseball
- Was a truck driver during the off-season in 1952.
- Served in the U. S. Navy during World War II, 1943-1945.
- His ship was sunk off the coast of Samoa and Frank and his buddies were in the water 48 hours before being rescued.
Career notes
- Served as fill in 2nd base umpire for 1st game of twi-night doubleheader between Sacramento and Portland on July 21, 1952.[1]
