While Fred Biangardi was with the 1952 Marion (NC) Marauders of the Class D Western Carolina League, a newspaper article at the end of the season stated: "Fred Biangardi will return to Elon for his last year of schooling and will take over the fullback spot on Coach Jim Mallory's grid team."[1]
