  • Resided in Springfield, Missouri in 1952.
  • Self-identified as being of Scottish-Irish-Indian ancestry.
  • Listed hobbies as woodcraft and reading.
  • Hit a game-winning triple his first trip up to the plate in his first game.
  • His biggest thrill was when the home folks held an Al White Night; he did not strike out that night, in fact he hit the first ball pitched for a home run.
  • He also got a thrill out of stealing 80 bases in one season with Topeka in the 1939 Western Association.
