• Played baseball at both Lincoln High and Sir Francis Drake High.
• Played baseball at the College of Marin.

[edit] Achievements

• In 1959, while at Lincoln High school, he was named to tha All-City team; in 1960 and 61, he was an All-Marin County shortstop.
• In 1961, was named outstanding player in the East-West Hearst All-Star Game in San Francisco, and played in the Hearst Sandlot Classic in New York.
