  • Pitch Yorktown High to regional championship in 1958. Also played football, basketball, and track.[1]
  • Selected to play in the 1959 Hearst Sandlot Classic in New York City.[1]
  • Attended Texas Lutheran for one semester and Victoria Junior College for two semesters. Also attended Southwest Texas State during off-season[1]
