Jackie Tobin was the younger brother of Jim Tobin. The two played against each other on July 10, 1945 during a Braves-Red Sox exhibition game, "Boston's United War Fund Game," at Fenway Park that served as a replacement for the canceled All Star Game that season. Jackie, the Bosox third baseman, singled in the sixth inning against older brother Jim.

• Led the 1948 Pacific Coast League in stolen bases with 37.
• Lost out to Jack Graham, then with San Diego, for the Pacific Coast League Most Valuable Player by three votes in 1948.

• Served in the Navy in 1943-1944.

• After playing for Tulsa in 1947 jack approached the San Francisco Seal management early in 1948 about making a deal for himself and succeeded.
• Was traded to San Diego in 1950 during the off-season along with Don White for Jack Graham and Bob Savage.
