- Resided in La Habra, California in 1952 and 1953.
- Listed hobbies as billards and golf.
- Was one of twelve children.
- Father of Jesse Flores (3cea) and Steven Flores.
- Donated his own time in 1948 toward building a baseball field for members of the La Habra CYO.
- Won his first pro game with Bisbee in the 1938 Arizona-Texas League by a score of 10-2.
- Coming within one hit (and one out) of a no-hit, no-run game while with the Los Angels was his greatest thrill; with two outs and two strikes on Marv Gudat, then with Oakland, Gudat dumped a blooper just out of reach of the infield for the lone hit.

- Won baseball and track letters in high school.

- Led the 1938 Arizona-Texas League in games won with 24 and earned run average of 2.38.
- Led the 1942 Pacific Coast League in earned run average with 2.63.
- Won ten straight games for Bisbee in 1938.
- Tied for the lead in most shutouts pitched with 5 in the 1952 Pacific Coast League.
- Led the 1952 Pacific Coast League pitchers in most games lost with 20.

- Was a laborer during the off-season in 1952.

- Was sent to San Diego by Cleveland in 1951, but before he could report, the San Diego Padres sent him to Sacramento for infielder Jim Tabor.
