  • Got a double with the bases full to win the game in his first pro game with Oakland in 1924.
  • Was a batboy for Los Angeles.
  • Came to San Diego as a coach in 1948.
  • Hitting a homerun of Wes Farrell of Boston with the base full when batting just ahead of Babe Ruth to win the game 7-6 in New York with a crowd of 60,000 and having Babe Ruth carried him to the dugout, as Babe usually did, after crossing the plate was his greatest baseball thrill.
