  • Graduated from Stanford University in 1953.
  • Played baseball at Stanford University.
  • Won 7 and lost 0 and hit .412 as a freshman at Stanford University.
  • Won 11 and lost only once to Washington State in the Pacific Coast Conference playoffs as a sophomore at Stanford University.
  • Won 6 and lost 2 before being stricken with pneumonia as a Junior at Stanford University.
  • Won 7 and lost 1 and had a batting average of .375 as a senior in 1952 and at Stanford University.

  • Was in the Marine Platoon Leaders, similar to ROTC.

  • Started pro career by signing with the Detroit Tigers in 1952 and won two and lost 6 for Williamsport of the Eastern League; the Williamsport franchise was abandoned at the end of the 1952 season and Chez became a free agent.
