- Brother of Charles Aspromonte and Bob Aspromonte.
- Hobbies include horse back riding, hunting, golf and photography.

- Played baseball, basketball and football in high school, earning all-city honors in all three. Was all-state in baseball.
- Played baseball and basketball at St John's University.
[edit] Achievements
- Named all-star shortstop in 1950 Coastal Plain League and 1951 California League.
- Voted MVP of 1951 San Jose.
- Led the 1957 Pacific Coast League in batting; named league's all-star second baseman.
[edit] Outside of baseball
- Served in the US Army Signal Corps for 22 months (1953-55); did radio broadcasting at SHAPE headquarters in Paris, France.
