Profile

Pre-professional career

  • Played Little League and American Legion ball.
  • Helped lead Florida Southern College to NCAA College Division World Series Championships in 1971 and 1972.
  • In 1971, he was named third baseman on NCAA College Division All-District Three team, leading tournament in RBIs (11). Also named to all-tournament team, and was named co-MVP of the College World Series.
  • In 1971, he played for Falmouth in the Cape Cod League; was chosen as the league's All-Star third baseman.
  • In 1972, he was chosen to the NCAA all District Three team and was named an All-American at third base.
