[edit] Home runs hit in April

Lee Walls became the first NL player to hit 8 home runs in April - in 1958. Wally Moon tied the record in 1961, and several other players later surpassed the mark subsequent to expansion. Ken Williams of the St. Louis Browns held the AL and major league pre-expansion record of 9, set in 1922.[1]
