  • Resided in New Orleans, Louisiana in 1952.
  • Jumped organized baseball on May 23, 1946 to the Mexican League.
  • Was reinsted to organized baseball on June 6, 1949 and rejoined the Saint Louis Cardinals.

  • During the war he was a radarman with the U.S. Navy in the Pacific participating in nine major battles.

  • In the Coast Guard during the 1944 and 1945 seasons.
  • Played in the Mexican League for part of 1946.
  • 1947, 1948, 1949 – "Ineligible until June 6, 1949" per the 1952 PCL Thumbnail Sketches.

  • Was drafted by the Cleveland Indians in 1950 after a good year with Los Angeles.
