- Resided in Greenwich, Connecticut in 1952.
- Self-identified as being of Polish ancestry.
- Played on the Evansville championship club in the 1941 Illinois-Indiana-Iowa League.
- Said in 1952 that his most thrilling experience was catching Ralph Branca at the Polo Grounds when Branca was a rookie, and beating the New York Giants 4-3 in 1945.
