Anthony (Nino, Bongy) Thomas Bongiovanni is married and has no children and lives in San Jose, California per the 1949 California League Gold Book. His nationality is Italian. He graduated from Santa Clara High School in 1932 and participated in baseball, basketball, football and track. He won the championship for his high school by stealing second, third and home after being purposely passed. He is a service station owner during the off-season. His hobbies are drawing and hunting. He served 33 months in the U. S. Army Air Corps. His ambition in baseball is to make it a lifetime career. His most interesting experiences were playing in a World Series in 1939 and getting 5 for 5 on opening day in 1936. He hit in 43 consecutive games in 1934 with Portland. He led the 1937 Pacific Coast League in hits with 236 and runs scored with 136.
